  • Location: Richmond, Virginia with hybrid work schedule (Up to 2 days a week remote)

    Experience: 0 to 4 years

    Salary: $60,000 to $75,000

    This position will work on building projects across most market sectors including single family residences, multi-story hotels and higher education buildings with structural systems composed of steel, wood, masonry and concrete. This work will include new buildings as well as the renovation and adaptive reuse of existing buildings. Responsibilities for this position will include all aspects of structural design and construction administration, including analysis, document creation, client meetings and site observations. The position expectations will transition from assisting more senior engineers on projects of all sizes to taking the lead on smaller projects while continuing to provide support on larger projects.

     

    Requirements

    • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on structures

    • 0-4 years of experience in structural consulting or the construction industry

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification

    • Familiarity with structural analysis software, particularly Tedds and RAM

    • Familiarity with construction document creation programs, particularly Revit

    • Knowledge of major design codes including IBC, ASCE7, AISC 360, ACI 318, NDS, TMS402/602

    • Previous structural engineering experience or related experience such as an internship, co-op or experience on construction sites or with building evaluation.

    • An eagerness to learn and design a wide range of structures

    Position Responsibilities

    • Analytical model creation

    • Design and analysis of structural elements

    • Review of code to determine design conformance

    • BIM modeling

    • Assist principal in the creation of structural construction drawings

    • Attend project design and coordination meetings

    • Site visits to investigative existing buildings

    • Site visits during construction

    • Report writing, include site visit and evaluation reports

    • Review of shop drawings

    • Attendance at industry events, such as the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Urban Land Institute (ULI) to assist with marketing

    • Participation in continuing education seminars

  • STRUCTURAL PROJECT ENGINEER

    Location: Richmond, Virginia with hybrid work schedule (Up to 2 days a week remote)

    Experience: 3+ years

    Salary: $70,000 to $85,000

    This position will work on building projects across most market sectors including single family residences, multi-story hotels and higher education buildings with structural systems composed of steel, wood, masonry and concrete. This work will include new buildings as well as the renovation and adaptive reuse of existing buildings. Responsibilities for this position will include all aspects of structural design and construction administration, including analysis, document creation, client coordination and site observations. The position expectations will include managing the structural design of small to large projects, client coordination for small to medium projects and client management for small projects.

    Requirements

    • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on structures

    • 3+ years of experience in the structural engineering of buildings and related structures

    • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification with the intent to obtain a PE/SE

    • Strong understanding of major design codes including IBC, ASCE7, AISC 360, ACI 318, NDS, TMS402/602

    • An entrepreneurial energy with an eagerness to both lead and support

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Passed the SE Exam or planning to take it within 2 years

    • Licensed or seeking license in Virginia

    • Familiarity with Tedds, RAM and Revit

    • A portfolio of project experience that includes a wide range of building and material types

    Position Responsibilities

  • STRUCTURAL PROJECT MANAGER

    Location: Richmond, Virginia with hybrid work schedule (Up to 2 days a week remote)

    Experience: 5+ years

    Salary: $85,000 to $105,000

    This position will work on building projects ranging from small commercial buildings to more complex mid-rise and academic buildings with structural systems composed of steel, wood, masonry and concrete. This work will include new buildings as well as the renovation and adaptive reuse of existing buildings. Responsibilities for this position will include all aspects of structural design, construction administration, project management and client management. This is a highly independent role with support and final review from the principal.

     

    Requirements

    • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on structures

    • 5+ years of experience in the structural engineering of buildings and related structures

    • Passed SE/PE exam and is a registered professional or structural engineer in the US

    • Expert understanding of major design codes including IBC, ASCE7, AISC 360, ACI 318, NDS, TMS402/602

    • Excellent leadership qualities and communication skills with the ability to maintain good relationships with employees and clients

    • Experience managing medium sized building projects at all levels of design including construction

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Passed the SE Exam

    • Licensed in Virginia

    • A portfolio of project experience that includes a wide range of building and material types of moderate size and complexity

    • Experience with proposal writing and client management

    • Has an entrepreneurial spirit with an eagerness to take on new challenges

    • Adept at prioritizing their responsibilities and a proactive approach to problem solving
